Hello. Does anyone still see this thing? I went to my friends page and saw just 1 community going all the way back.

My, how times change...

I’m testing out Windows Live Writer blogging application. So… if my LJ doesn’t get hosed, I guess we can consider this a successful test.

Choo-choo!

I don't post here much any more do I? Hmm. Does anyone really miss me? I've mostly migrated to twitter as there's less pressure to be thoughtful what with the imposed brevity and all. ;)

So the upshot of food poisoning is apparently: 1) bizarrely sore chest, as if breathing if a chore, 2) a constant headache...

Damn you chicken, damn you...

News.BBC.co.uk redesigned. Goddamnit. I don't like it. The old one was happy ol' BBC. Now it's all CNN-whitespacey. :(

I'm only a quarter into Star Trek: TMP and so far the transporters have randomly scrambled 2 people, the solar system has a stealth wormhole in the middle of it with bizarre, random asteroids roaming around, and there are bald chicks and bearded dudes... jesus h christ this movie is fucked-up...

Well the episode was better than I was expecting seeing as how re-hashed it sounded, but that ending was simply annoying. Whose idiotic plan was it to just storm in at some vastly-too-early date when they had lots of specific timing details on the data crystal? Gah!

I'm playing loud music (but not /too/ loud... I am a parent now, obviously) and I want to stay up late and create some bitchin' website that's totally fucking AWESOME... except I'm tired because I got up at 7am and we went out a lot and got lots of exercise then got home and I just finished building a fuck-load more cabinets for the new kitchen.

So, bed instead of web2.0 hot-shit website. Bah! :P

Just to remind everyone, my father-in-law has a very interesting and insightful blog that he updates more than any other bloggers I personally know. So, if you want to learn something about the world or maybe just that little part of it know as "England", go have a read:

He deserves more linkings. :)

It's the new universal device plot! "I don't sleep" says the hot, young Terminator from the new Sarah Connor Chronicles. It's a great line. It's her answer to every question relating to 'Where did this crucial new piece of information or apparatus come from?'

Man, I wish I'd thought of it. 'Well, I'm awake when everyone else isn't, so I go have mischievous adventures. Choo-choo!'

Synopsis: I just found out that the bug I've been chasing in a PHP side project isn't in my display logic, or the framework's session handlers, or the database storage engine, or the PHP config options, or the Apache hosts... It's an actual core bug of the cookie parsing for Apache 1.3's proxy modules.

Translation: Crazy shit way, WAY out of my control.

Stop-gap: Drink a bottle of wine.

Actualization: I have no wine.

Solution: Move this project to a dedicated server.

Impact: Most likely, monthly cashola charges.

Reaction: Not awesome. I wish I'd known about this being the cause before fucking with recompiles and crazy crap on 3 systems for several days and night.

I'm eating a cheese and pickle sandwich because Sarah always tells me Kipper reminds her of me.

And I'm drinking GuS Dry Cola because I must try every cola variety before I die.

I felt the need to share all this - you surely will be keenly interested.

As I believe I neglected to mention, Meg and I launched a fun little website the other day: http://www.retrorant.com/

Mainly it's aimed at capturing all those personal anecdotes we and our friends (and their friends, and friends of friends of friends...) share about childhoods and growing-up. Obviously the most memorable tales are nearly always worth sharing so, presto, somewhere to share them.

I'd appreciate hearing any feedback or thoughts anyone might have. It's a very simple site currently, function over form so to speak.

So go have a look kids! :)

Almost done reading Robert Charles Wilson's latest novel: Axis

I would recommend it for sci-fi fans although reading the precursor, Spin, would probably be advisable.

Lalala! Can't wait for my commute tomorrow to find-out the conclusion! :)
